Do these fireplaces compare to wood stoves? Can you retro fit these into a masonry fireplace? Our opening is 38" high and 40.5" wide. Thanks!

It is made to be installed during new construction or a renovation / remodel. It would be very difficult to install into a masonry fireplace.
