I got replacement parts for my 4000i from these guys http://www.blackswanhome.com Their prices seemed to be lower than other places and their shipping was so low it had to be a mistake.

By controller are you referring to the thermostat? Amazon sells it for 265 shipped.
I'd personally go with a new in warranty purchase. Unless you are getting it for next to nothing.
