I about jumped out of my chair when that thing came out of the hole! On my slow dialup, waiting for the video to progress, I was getting very relaxed and all of a sudden...BOO!
 
Wow! defilntely got my attention, too.
 
That was either a very determined or very foolish bird . . . depending on your viewpoint.

Another reason to cut in the cold weather.
 
That fits the description of "bird brain" all right. That is one dumb critter right there. The dang thing is lucky the snake didn't get him dead the first time around, let alone the 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
 
I googled woodpecker vs snake.
The snake is a egg eating type, yellow something
It was eating the woodpecker's eggs. So not so bird brained after all.

I don't think that's quad's wood pecker.
