Have Radiant Plus fireplace with the standard remote

The main issue is Auto does not work even going to extreams. Meaning, Temp in the house is 70 and I turn it down to 60 and it still will not turn off. If I change to manual mode I can turn it Off or On without issue.
I have replaces batteries, reset the remote with the control. Meaning, Turn control ON by plugging in power then press button on remote and have light go out
It use to work fine but here it is 5+ years later and it has issues. Have any test/fixes?
