Went camping near Grand Lake Stream over the weekend and while geocaching came across this very long stack of hardwood destined for the mill in Baileyville (formerly Woodland) . . . thought you guys would get a kick out of seeing all this wood . . . it stretched well over a quarter mile . . . and there were at least one or two other stacks of the same length and height in the area.

Would that be the golden road.

Nope . . . downeast near the Canadian border with New Brunswick.

Ya Jake, we see lots of stacking areas in northern MI. They are humgous in size. Seems like 1,000,000 board feet has been mentioned for them to be ahead by that much.

i wonder if they could drop off a simple ten cords at my place? i'm sure they wouldn't miss it!

Next time I'm down near Mio, I'll try to remember the camera. At least 2 large sawmills, but maybe not quite that much wood on hand. Several smaller operations too.
Did some work for the kid who inherited one of 'em, but he ran it into the ground......skimming money for his house.
