We've been getting a bunch of how do I build a hearth questions lately and I did a search to try to find the thread that was wicked helpful to me when I was building a hearth . . . but I've searched several times now and can't find it. I'm pretty sure it would prove helpful to many would-be hearth builders.

I can't remember who posted it . . . or even when it was posted (except that it was on here before August 2008) . . . I do remember that it was a very detailed thread with step by step instructions. I don't think it had any pictures, but it had very helpful suggestions (i.e. how to lay down the tile, the importance of cleaning up the grout right away, importance of using Flexbond or Versabond, etc.)

I know it's a shot in the dark, but does this ring a bell with any of our older . . . I mean venerable . . . members?

SCMAINE When I use the link it said I am not authorized to preform this action Thanks

All good threads, but I was thinking about it this morning and now I'm thinking it was more of a step-by-step wiki article listed here and not an actual thread.

Ok, I give up-
It really is truely amazing how much there is to read in this forum-
what's more amazing is the great forebearance displayed by those, yourself included, who continue to answer the same questions over and over with apparantly undiminished zeal. Terrific.
