Just finished giving the insert a good cleaning, lubed up all the moving parts, swept the chiminy and hit the stove with some stove bright paint.
Their is still 3 or 4 weeks before i will fire it up.(up to mother nature of course)
Hope i didn't forget everything i learned last year.
 
Me too :cool: (newbie burner, install just completed)

I had a fire yesterday, but the temps came back into the upper 60s F, felt like we were at visiting somebody's grandparents house ;sick

Can you tell me what did you use as a lube ? I need to put something on my latch.
 
graphite powder works well.
 
Thanks begreen. I have some in the shed. Will try tomorrow.
 
high temp never seize seems to work well for me
