Anyone ever considered a reflector to increase the sunshine on a rack of logs?

It's probably not practical, but I'll bet it increase the rays by at least 25%.

Interesting idea, probably couldn't hurt. I heard somewhere that white styrofoam is the most reflective surface. I suppose you could also lay down something black to create convection currents. This could all create a bit of an eyesore though.

It won't hurt but stacking in the best wind will help more.

Huh, never thought of that. I'll have to stand next to my wood piles with my tinfoil hat on. Seriously though that may help, not a bad idea to try.

I saw something similar about using mirrors to direct sunlight into windows that don't get direct sunlight to warm the room during winter. I never thought of it for wood. Good idea.

Agreed, stacking the wood so that the prevailing wind can blow through the stack will have more benefit.

Ahh but using mirrors on the wood pile will make them look bigger. The down side is that you will use your wood supply twice as fast. Positioned right the mirrors might help you get a better tan if you split wood in your swimming trunks.
