Question:

Looking for a source of 10x10 inch ceramic firebricks for a Preway BI26-EM prefab fireplace. Preway went out of business a number of years ago, but, they didn't make the firebricks themselves. Anyway to track down the ceramic manufacturer who did?

Answer:

You can usually hire this job out to a chimney sweep who will cut a panel for you. Another choice is to cast your own panel (you have to make a wood mold) out of the special cement sold for this purpose (try Rutland Products or Lehmans Hardware)

"Americas Finest Chimney Supply" (800) 707-0088 sells sheets you can cut to size, but you have to buy 5 pieces.
