Replacing Vent Cable on VC Encore

Has anyone replaced the cable on a VC Defiant Encore
The cable broke and it is a thin 1/32 braided cable
I bought 1/16 cable at home Depot and have thought I had it at the right length
but when you reassemble the inner wall it threw the geometry off and now my cable is too short
I think I have to attach the cable to the lever reassemble the inner wall then adjust the lenght at the vent door
HELP

I know you cannot order direct from VC
you have to order thru a dealer???

I bought more 1/16 cable from Home Depot and reinstalled and it worked fine
