Does anyone have a Republic Wireless phone plan?

I would avoid it.

The technology to switch between wifi and traditional cellular (especially while on a call) is spotty at best. Add to this the limited number of phones that are compatible with the service and I just dont get it. The cost looks competitive if you look at it only from a numbers perspective but when you compare it to something like straight talk its a not even in the ballpark.

Republic ONLY uses sprint network ( and wifi) which is notoriously bad. Straight talk leases time from AT&T, T-Moble, Verizon, as well as sprint denpening on the area you are operating in.

The only situation I would recommend it in is if you want to use it as a home phone service in conjunction with your wifi service.

Thanks. We don't need a home phone, so l guess its not for us

My buddy is a Web developer, he got his phone through them because he liked the concept. He refuses to admit it's not so good, but he got his wife a phone through Verizon and gave everyone her number in case we "need" to reach him.
