rope saw/wire saw

I am looking for info on reliable rope saws or wire saws for trimming limbs over 30 feet. There are mixed reviews on for the products through northern tool(i.e. sand bag breaks, saw teeth orientation to the limb, binding). Any recommendations out there or even a way to make my own. Thanks.

My take on this: If it was a good idea they would be more common and available. I do a fair amount of felling. I cut a lot of limbs to about 27' for myself and close friends. Higher than that and I write a check and enjoy watching.
