Done some weedeating for a guy yesterday and he asked me if i cut trees. He has got a dead yellow locust he is going to give me and pay me $60 bucks to do it. Wahoo!

i heard locast is as good as white oak or hickory
 
I personally would rate it higher than white oak and an equal to hickory. Great burning (long) stuff. The only down side is that you really should have a well established fire before you start feeding the locust to the stove. Kinda treat it the same as osage.
