Sears Hardware selling pellets

My local Sears Hardware is selling Lignetics Hardwood for $5.99 bag. When I asked what the "per ton" price was the cashier replied "Who needs a whole ton of wood pellets?"
The manager then told me they don't expect to sell a lot of pellets. I agreed with him.
