First of all this site is great.

We have a bought a house which has a Selkirk ZC fireplace. We don't know alot about the fireplace. It has a template that indicates it is a model 2000. Ours has two gravity vents that are in the wall. There are no blower fans or anything.

What I am wondering if anyone knows anything about these fireplaces? It doesn't seem to produce as much heat as I thought it should. I am fairly new to the wood burning way. I was just wondering if I am expecting too much from a older fireplace. The fireplace is in our living room. Even with the doors closed the room doesn't get all that warm.
