    What exactly is the shelf life of pellets? For the sake of argument lets assume they remain in unopened bags and are in a reasonably dry location. I have storage space and if the price is right I'd like to look ahead to next winter as well. Thanks for the help everyone.

    If they are in the unopened bags and stored in a dry location, they'll be fine for a couple of years.
