should the top and rear vent have a gasket?

I have been un packing and my jotul f100. I have switched it over to rear vent. The hardware bag only came with one rope gasket though. Since it is a rear vent does it go on the top vent still or should I put it in the back wear the stove pipe is going to connect or should they both have a gasket?

stop by your local stove shop or hardware store and get about 24" of 1/4" gasket, and do 'em both just to be sure... i have seen people run em without the gasket, but i think it is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it

you mean between the flue collar and the body of the stove? or the plug and the body of the stove?
yes, both shouls have gaskets to seal, and allow for expansion/contraction
