Was sitting on the couch today and figured this was a nice view to share. Warmed up to the 20's, going to be in the 40's next week so the snow will be gone in a few days. This is mostly box elder.

It never freezes here, most is maybe 10-20' off shore then open water.

    Not really.
We had about 18" the end of Dec which melted completely off and have about 12" on the ground now.
Been a pretty uneventful winter as far as lake effect storms.

I'd say 3 out of 4 winters it freezes all the way across here.

You're by Erie right? I don't know if any of Ontario freezes up-maybe by the St Lawrence? I always wondered how much Erie would freeze without the ice boom...

Thanks. We are extremely lucky to live here. Had to sacrifice a lot to do it and buy a small place with plenty of problems, but we're here. Makes it darn hard to go to work though, and leave this behind for concrete and cubicles. Yesterday was the first I saw of the ice, I leave when it's dark and come home when it's dark so I didn't know there was so much!
