If this years Somersets are like previous years, they are a very good pellet......I think you'll be getting that ton....soon. ;-)

I really liked the Somersets alot! But I can't get them without a lot of traveling. I can only hope that the local Lowes has them this year!

Jay, if they do get them in, grab a couple of bags for me for "testing".

Thanks Bud!

The lowes by me is 1/2 mile. think I lucked out this yr by not haveing to travel all around to get good pellets.

We purchased an entire truckload of Somerset's this summer. They are one of the best pellets on the market. One thing we like about them is that they burn hot compared to most other pellets. I have to turn my stoves down a notch when buring Somerset's.

You won't be disapppointed.

Two seasons ago I burned 4 tons of Sommerset pellets, and they were great. My Quad stayed clean as can be time after time, and all I had every few days was a light dusting of ash to vacuum up. My firepot stayed very clean and almost carbon free, the only reason I needed to do a weekly carbon clean is my Quad has a firepot floor swing plate to dump the clinkers and the clearance is very tight, so if I get just a thing layer of carbon the floor plate wont swing open and I have to get the carbon off first. But having said that , I really liked the Sommersets, they are a premium hardwood, and you can bear this out by taking some of the long pellets and try snapping them. A lot of pellets will crumble when you break them up, or are very soft, but those Sommersets were really tough. I had only one complaint, and that was some of the pellets were about 2 and 2 1/2 inches long, and I had to try to sort those long ones out and break them because my Quad was constantly making banging noises, when the auger would bust up those long ones. But overall Sommersets are awesome.

I couldnt get them last year or this year Ive got Country Boy White Lightnings, and they seem to be almost as good as the Sommerset, but slightly more ash, and I dont think the White Lightnings are as hot, I can only judge this by how hot the air feels on low fire and there is a slight difference so I'd say Sommersets are hotter .

Too far for it to be worth it. :long:

I was also impressed by them and bought a full truckload
22 tons should last me about 5+ years, at 4 ton per year

Somerset Pellet Fuel: Nature's Fuel (Hardwood)

Somerset uses kiln-dried sawdust from their hardwood flooring division to produce their quality pellets. Because the company has total control of its raw materials from lumber to pellet, Somerset doesn't need to worry about contaminates in the raw materials.
