well as most here know, I was complaining about a pallet of ashy Somersets,
I opened another pallet and low and behold back to almost no ash
The intersting thing I have noticed between the 2 pallets is
almost no difference in heat output, until right before weekly cleaning
the lower ash pellets had a little more carbon build up, still minimal
also there was MORE ash in the heat exchangers/less heat output towards weekly cleaning
so maybe the heavier/more ash is actually cleaner on the stove
falls into ash pan instead of floating around and
being sucked into exhausht path

thought this was interesting
you thoughts??

Anyway you slice it, Somersets are a good pellet. I have saved sample over the last 3 yrs. The color has changed a little here and there. But the size (small pellets/like'em like that) has always stayed the same. By far one of the more consistent pellets I have burned.

Very interesting, your observations.
