The weather is absalutly beautiful right now ! It's dark but there is a fresh snow coat on everything in sight. It's 30f and the stove is burning brightly. The air is just right to make my flu run hot so I had to shut the damper a bit but that's life.

Pete, I put a pipe damper in my Little Hampton when I installed it, just in case. My chimney is only 13 feet from the top of the stove to the cap, just barely over the Regency/Hampton prescribed minimum. But on super cold nights, with a load of ash, I can shut the pipe damper all the way and she still cruises normal.

It's only once a year in high winds usually that we need the damper. This year has been a big exception 3 times so far this year alone last December was 2 times. I am very glad we put it in now !
