got her hooked up and took a test spin around the yard. works great.
for $60 can't complain.
will post a pic asap. moving the stove out of the basement today so little time...
 
I got a smaller diameter threaded part for the ball on my quad. Its a good bit smaller than the ones for my truck
They make 2 sizes 3/4" or 5/8" I don't remember the smaller one and 1" shanks for the balls. I drill the holes with a bi-metal hole saw. Slow with some cutting fluid. You can use a hand held or a drill press.

5/8" looks about right for the shank on my quad, I just looked. 3/4" for sure on the truck
 
I already had a 3-bagger attachment so just welded another crossmember. I can use the hole for the tongue of my cart or drop my ball in it for my splitter. Thanks to Butcher for the idea!
