I was told that there is a spray foam that can be used to insulate a wood burning fireplace insert chimney liner. They said it was called Chim tec or something like that, but I cannot find anything online. Has anyone heard of such a product?

There are spray on lining repair systems, but it isn't an insulation, more of a ceramic coating to preserve liners that are structurally sound but flaking. Needs to be sprayed into an already code compliant chimney.

I have also seen spray adhesives that hold insulation in place during the install.

Never heard of a spray on insulation that goes outside a steel liner though.

Price $189 - ouch!
