I was gonna ask what you got. Got about 8" in my driveway from last night and today. Just a dusting in Anchorage.

I never have figured out how there are so many "micro climates" just between towns that are a few miles apart.

Have had it dumping rain in Wasilla and at home it's nice and sunny... and vice versa. Or windy as heck here, calm in Anchorage.

I would say montains! Can cause such a change in weather. And you have plenty of the ranges.....hiked many of them!
My avatar dog (Saba) pic was taken just outside Anchorage.

    The norm:
If the low goes into PWS, we usually get snow. Wrap around effect.
Down sloping dry air & no snow if low goes over or west of us.

    The exceptions:
Alaska has many micro climates with the glaciers, mountains & coastal areas, just wait an hour or 2, the weather will change :)

We had a minus week, we lost more snow than we received. We have February beat, even if we get a good snow spring is just around the corner.

The February sun is really nice.

Bet the sun is putting out some heat there now.
Still cold at night but when you see the sun & then water dripping, Spring Fever is real close for you :)

Another month & we'll start getting Spring Fever here. :)

+ 1 on the February sun, it has some heat to it, & feels so good on the body. In west Michigan we see precious little sun in the winter due to lake effect clouds. Makes for some dreary days in winter. A C

Lake Effect, bad words this time of year, could mean some heavy azz snow.

After plowing the driveway today, The sun came out for a few minute.
Started melting the snow & could see dark spots forming on the driveway.
Heat in the sun always feels good this time of the year.

When all the snow back east melts, stay away from the small creeks, they're gonna flood.

Wasn't a whole lot of melting done here today and we had sun most of the day. Temperature started falling around noon. By the time I quit cutting wood, I was getting cold. Oh, how nice that warm house is to come into after working in the cold!

The 28 inches we had was down to 6 inches yesterday before we got a couple more inches, the Feb sun is warm down here and days are longer.
