I had a chimney service in a couple of days back and they applied Crown Coat and caulked some cracks in my three flue masonry chimney. The service installed new Stainless caps on two of the flues, the third has a 6" SS liner to an fireplace insert. The insert/liner was installed about 4 years go - see my signature for exact date (I think). Looking from the ground the 4 year old round cap on my insert is shinny bright, the new rectangular caps look rather dull. Do stainless caps come in both bright and flat finishes?

Any comments on Crown Coat welcome too...thanks.

Just checking, it seems I have posted a not very interesting question. I have subsequently also had the full external chimney had Chimney Saver sprayed on ground to top, at least 300 square feet...and just in time, the hurricane Sally is expected of NJ late Sunday or early Monday, this should test the water proofing, but I didn't have any noticeable water penetration prior to the treatment.
