I am replacing the gasket for the damper on my Federal wood stove. The gasket that the store sold my Wife is 5/16" glass with a steel braid cover. I have only used straight glass rope before. Anybody use this.
And how do you cut it.
 
Usually that stuff (if it's what I think it is) is used on the top loading door of VC's. I'd just cut it with scissors, not your best pair of course.
