Try graphite, it comes in a dry form so pellets and dust won't stick, moly works too.
 
wow, yer kidding me. I just bought a brand spankin' new XXV and the lid is a bearcat to open. I thought it was cause it was new and needed to be broken in or I'm getting too old and weak. I'll have to try some graphite to see how that works. You'd think a fourthousanddollarstove would have a dab of graphite installed for free to go along with the deal - I guess not
 
The US spent a million dollars to make a pen that worked in space. The Russians used a pencil. Graphite, keeps your nuke power plant under control too.
