When you have the recoil cover off of a stihl ms 290 should the flywheel spin freely. it wants to bind then spin again. do i have a bad bearing? Thanks

Pull The spark plug and bar/chain off then try. At this point the flywheel should spin reasonably free. You might be able to feel when the piston reaches each end of the stroke but there will be no significant resistance.
