Last week when I was clearing around the barn. I was taking all the stumps to the gravel pit and dumping them in a pile off to the side of it. The pile was getting close to some nice cedar trees. Which I decided to save for my lumber pile. The first one was leaning towards the pile and I wasn't sure what it was going to do when it hit it. So I cleared the area notched and cut it then ran and hid behind another tree when it started to go. It was something to watch 15' of the trunk lift up and stay 10' in the air.

My wife ask me what I did when the tree started to go (past winter I dropped two beech) and I told her that my ass was in gear headed out my escape route, she said you run and I said hell ya just not like the old days playing ball. :grrr:

lol Really what else you going to do! I have stood there many time on easy ones, but I am still a runner! :coolhmm:

Good job Billy. I've done this a few times and have had a laugh every time. Run Billy, run!

Jay

I cut three other trees back there but that's the only one that wanted to go that way. I tried to wedge one of the others over that way but it didn't go so I guess you are right! When I have a nice clean drop I love to shut the saw off and hear it crash down. But when its dicey I'm not afraid to boogie out of there.

Zap

I always have two escape routes. All that weight is coming down sure is a motivator to put it in top gear.

Thanks Dennis

I'm not afraid to cut and Run!

I like to call it full boost mode! Chris was felling with me and I have never seen anyone with a bigger full boost....He cleared a football field before the tree crashed. Wished I had that speed....lol
