Will a saw running a .58 bar in cahin in 3/8 run a .50 bar and cahin in thee same pitch?
 
If you mean changing bar and chain, both, to .058 or .050, leaving only the clutch sprocket alone, then yes. 3/8 is 3/8.

If you mean mixing the bar or chains, no. .050 chain needs .050 bar and vice versa.

But if the bar is worn, I'd change the sprocket also. Only $5. Unless you have a spur sprocket intregral with the drum. If there is any wear groove, rather than replace the drum and spur, it might be a good time to change to rim drive drum and rim.

If the spur does not have grooves in it, change the bar and chain and go to work.
