Normally I pay no attention to sap on my wood but this doug-fir I have is super sappy. I took some out for camping firewood and when I tossed a piece in it was like gasoline! the smoke coming off it was super black and I'm wondering if this is ok for my cat stove.
Can wood have too much sap?

Any wood can have too much sap. Given time though, it should be fine for the stove.
