Does anyone have experience with the Swisher 22 Ton Electric Log Splitter (LS22E)? We're attracted by the advantages of the electric but are wondering about its performance and in particular the sound of the electric motor?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Northeast Kingdom here. We changed from gas to electric long ago with 3 DR electric splitters ( one is their discontinued 10 T that does 95% of our wood butts) over 11 years. That 22 ton will do almost the same as a 22T gas but slower. Have patience, the cycle time is slower.
I like it for the lack of maintenance ( no oil changes, plug, or carb problems in cold), and more, since it can be used anytime without startup.
Be sure you have 220V however and a high gauge shorter length cord.
The motors are much quieter than gas BUT make a noisy whine. The noise level is OK for talking next to the motor, singing, or listening to VPR.
Can't do that with gas splitters. Good luck.

"in particular the sound of the electric motor?"

Have you considered a Kinetic, Rack & Pinion, supersplit style splitter ? These should sadisfy your power & noise specs.
