Hey guy's, the new Napoleon 1400PL is workin great! The Rutland thermometer has given me much needed insight to the burn zone. At this point I've decided to put off installing the pipe damper, for now anyway. I'm guessing that understanding the secondary burn factor will be sufficient. we'll see how things are going when it gets really cold. Thanks for all the tips.

Good to hear that. You'll see it's behavior change a bit depending on the outdoor temps, the wood and the timing of the air control closure. But soon you will have it down pat.
