Sockeye salmon have arrived and this year at the Baker River it's looking like a very good year. This is a video of the hydroelectric project to mitigate damage to the salmon run. They actually collect the salmon and give them a ride to above the dam. It's great to see and quite an operation.

In full disclosure, we ate a 10lb. salmon that night, caught right below here where the Baker River joins the Skagit. It was very good.

Really cool to see that operation and I bet that fresh Salmon was great!

Its awesome to see those salmon spawn upriver. We have the native trout that do basically the same process here in the central PA mountains. Neat to watch!

Cool. Just curious. How did you cook the Salmon?

I was a guest and just ate the salmon. It was gas grilled in foil with some sort of tasty lemon marinade. The fish was yummy and we had salmon salad sandwiches the next day that were also great.
