"The stove"

It's 1.1 outside tonight,
and the snow is glistening in the day's last light.
The drifts are driven into piles deep,
and as we clear them all we neighbors meet.

Inside the blue and yellow flames are bright
and sparks like fireflies dance in delight.
Yes, in one world there is a stark cold storm,
But in the other we are warm.

Clean and clear my pellets burn
I sit on my chair in front of the stove
Fire is bright and the heat is warm

The hopper full and hatches tight
The flue and fans clean and true
All so you may have a warm night

Very cold tonite, it's true,
in broad daylight, my leaf blower blew,
at home I'm warm,
whilst shoveling i've sworn,
my pellet stove's flame is blue.

Outside my wall a howling wind blows
It slams the siding carrying bitter cold snows

Inside my wall is a gentle air flow
Its warmth has our family, all a glow
