I have the older buck stove 26000 right now it has the toggle switch for all the time high speed or a auto speed I guess u could say I was wondering about the 3 speed thermostat if that would be better because the fan is kind of loud and if I got the 3 speed maybe the low would be quieter
 
Running a fan on lower speed definitely quiets down fan noise.

Probably need the new motor and and thermostat. Call the sponsor on this site, ServiceSales.com. I've used them in the past, they are experts with old bucks like yours.
