I had talked about my Uncle's tree before, and he finally got it taken down. Now we are cutting it up and hauling it away to my place.

He thinks it is an ash tree that died from ash borer. I am not so sure. Can anyone let me know?

For reference I am a size 12 shoe.

Kinda thinks red oak when I see the limb bark.

Maple with a corkscrew grain. It is going to be a pita to split and stack.

Not Red Oak and looks like its gonna be a PIA to split with that twisty grain. Good luck with it.

Looking at the bark my first guess is Silver Maple.
