Top clearance advice for Jotul F602CB

We're about to get our Jotul F602CB installed, and the installer brought up a question about ceiling clearance. In the manual, it lists clearances for alcove installation at 8 feet from floor to ceiling. We're not installing in an alcove, just our living room. The distance from floor to ceiling is 7 feet. I have not found anywhere in the manual where it says the distance from floor to ceiling if not in an alcove. Does it matter?
