    Wondered if i could take my old fisher top exhaust and throught the use of back to back 90 degree elbows turn it into a hearth mount? is there any reason that this couldn t be done aside form the look? pardon the ignorance of a newbie if there is an awvious reason. thanks

    reduced draft, or the possibility of reduced draft would be my first concerns

    followed by: the ss liner pipe is worth soo much more than the stove...

    Agreed, I would also be concerned about this turning into a creosote trap. But if the liner is tall enough to create a decent draft and only dry wood is burned, it might work.
