This Birch is in the same area I was cutting today, the top came down this last week. The other mess is from the micro burst of 2008, we'll save that for Overkill.

Topped birch, was it sick?
Here they come down from the top down as they die.
To rotten for fire wood by then.

I'm with Dave. When they start falling, they are usually rotten on the inside.

Thanks for the heads-up, I just came in from that area from a short walk, we'll get it down safe.
