We just had a whacked out front blow thru Watervliet. DARK skies, high winds accompanied by heavy rain & lightning bolts & stuff. Glad I'm inside & not on the bike.

I was through Watervliet, MI on Saturday, and they got hammered hard late last week. Trees broken in half everywhere. Must be the name.

Not to hijack this one, but the reason there is a Watervliet, Michigan, along with many other NY town & village names out that way, is because of the Erie Canal. It started here & ran across the state displacing homeowners as it was cut thru towns & villages. Many of those displaced folks joined the construction crews & traveled West, as the canal was built. Once the canal was completed, they continued on to the state of Michigan & founded new towns and villages using the names of the towns they were displaced from...

Just got back from a quick 5 mile run at Proud Lake(quick because there were many deer/horse flys out) with the Dog. Heard the Warning Sirens go off about 7:45ish, Sounded like they were the Milford ones.
