using gassifier as a kiln

I've got an EKO 25. Does anyone think I could slide the refractory in the gassification chamber over just a little to use the side as a kiln. Thinking of making clay pigions for trap shooting.
 
I thought that firing stuff in a kiln was supposed to be a slow process. I have an EKO 40 and the fire from it is anything but slow. But I like your idea. Let us know how it works...Thanks for the idea anyhow
