My setup is like this, clean out tee off the stove,46 inch straight run to a 90 into a wall thimble which goes into a 8 inch clay lined chimney. Pipe is 3 inch. Chimney is about 8 feet high. Would I be better off using 3 inch pipe to vent the stove? Stove is a Lennox Montage Elite.

Do you have an issue with it now? A liner kit in the clay tile chimney would be ideal and were it me I'd do 4" in that situation but if you aren't experiencing a problem I wouldn't worry about it at this point. It won't be super fun to clean though, I would like to add.
