Hi im new to the site and after some internet searching I still haven't found my answer so basically what I am wanting to know is I recently bought a new pellet stove and the vent just happens to be right where I have some very nice old oak base boards my question is how do I properly raise my vent from the stove so I don't have to cut that oak board when going through the wall. I have a through the wall vent kit which has the appliance adaptor a tee 5 sections of pipe and I 90 deg elbow

Another option may be to make a nice platform. Pretty easy to do.

I had the same situation and built a raised hearth.

how then would you ever ad vertical rise?

almost every manufacture will recommend some vertical rise in the venting to help maintain a draft in the event of a power failure

Minimized is probably a better word.

How much clearance do you need? I was an inch short of my wall thimble clearing my radiant baseboard, so I cut the bottom inch off the inside thimble.
