Has anyone else had problems with the refactory access cover to the catalytic unit breaking? The cover is just set on top of a small lip and has nothing securing it so any log that bumps it can break it.

I have the same concern. The lip supporting the cover on my stove is chipped a bit, so the cover is balancing on the ceramic below it. I made up a thin steel shim that is thicker in the front than in the back so the cover tips toward the back of the stove. I would like a better solution, but the temperatures limit the options. I heard this was re-designed, but I'm not sure what was done.
