On their website it doesn't say if its a catalytic or not.... please help.
Is it a learning curve to run these? Love that you can cook on it and remove ashes while stove is hot. Is this a good choice? What do you like about it? Thanks
 
hi first we need a picture to id a stove then we can go on. i am burning a defiant 1. that is the first generation.
 
You can cook on any stove that isn’t completely encased in non removable jacket and can remove ashes from a stove while it’s hot. Many people use their stoves as primary heat and don’t let their stove cool down all winter long.

The Defiant 1975 on VC's website is a catalytic stove. There is a learning curve to running these stoves. Also, it is quite radiant. Pay attention to clearances. These are listed in the stove manual which can be downloaded.
