Has anyone used this on one of the VC inserts? From my understanding you can raise the whole inserts to fit better into the firebox.

I'm building a new hearth and with micore I can make the hearth lower than the inside of the fireplace and less intrusive into the living room. By doing so, the insert would be higher than the hearth and the trim on the insert would be raised higher than the hearth, leaving a gap. Can I use the face plate in the trim riser kit to cover this gap? Tried to ask my local VC dealer this and he just emailed me a picture of the kit with no instructions. I sometimes wonder if these people are against making a sale!

Thanks,
Mike
