Third year burning Vermonts. Got to be the worst year for fines. Isn't a problem in my stove, just an observation. Curious to see if others are seeing the same.

Hm... I've burned about a 1/2 ton of two I bought last spring (June) and have minimal fines. Just got back onto VTs with the recent colder weather.

I just finished up a ton bought earlier this winter, cant say I noticed any fines

This is just a supposition on my part but what if you happened to buy the ton (s) that were down towards the bottom of the batch ? Just a theory based on things like brewing beer ect, ;) Buc vs. Bush . Could be you just got unlucky and got the rotgut of the load or yours got handles roughly. My Countryside doesn't care about fines at all, it just eats anything but stone chips as I found out. When I get too many fines built up in the auger tube it starts making a grinding sound. You could just sift them through something.
