I found an add on CL from a tree guy. They were trying to get rid of log length green wood. It was free if you wanted to pick it up, or they will deliver you a truckload for $200. I went for the delivery. They came while I was at work, and did a nice job stacking it.

I am no expert, but I would guess there is 6-8 cords here. Enough for 2-3 years. I guess I better get a log splitter now :) That big one on the right is about 3 feet in diameter. :gulp:

Nice score there. That'll keep you busy this spring (and warm in the winter)

Nice pile. A couple things:

Check the Gear forum for a post about the Harbor Freight splitter (Hobo Freight in title).

Get a peavey or cant hook if you don't have one, because it will pay for itself in this pile. ( A good, long PT 4x4 as a pry tool can come in handy, too.)

Buck it up with a friend and even then, be very careful moving them around.

I see two or three pieces in there that would absolutely earn some four letter words on a bad day in my yard.

Absolutely watch your fingers when they'e piled up like that. (from experience)

Lol... only around here is the phrase "Nice Pile" uttered and nobody things twice about it.

That is quite a score! It's hard to tell how much wood is there in the pic. Everything looks so small. ;o)

Wow! If that is all you burn in 3 years you don't need a lot of heat! Nice find though.

Nice score, wish I had a lot that a grappler could drop a pile like that, was that just one truck's worth ??

$200 for that load on LI is an absolute steal. I am looking to see if one of those trees is from my boyhood home in Malverne :)

Could be, the tree company is from Hempstead....

I only see one problem in the picture....
unless you have a really big stove err I mean fire box measured in the cubic yard then you got lots of work to do.

also looks like you are going to want a splitter as I see a lot of stuff that will make you curse without one.
