    Thats an oil drip bucket. After the cat gets good and hot, you set the bucket on top, the stove pre-heats the oil, which drips into the cat. It makes a hot fire!:cool:

    Thanks, learn something new everyday. I was hoping it was a fan ash bucket, been looking for something like that.

    Do I see a ring on the top center stone where the bucket sat?

    Maybe that's how it heats 2000 sq ft.
